1.People believe what you tell them to believe about you. If you are confident and act like you're something special, they'll believe you.
2. If you are kind, you can't go wrong. Even if someone hurts you because you were too nice to them, you win in the end because you're still happy.
3. People don't like things they don't have to work for. This includes jobs, relationships, and education.
4. Hanging out is more pressure than going on dates. Seems like it would be the other way around, but it's definitely not.
5. A genuine smile can do a lot for a person's looks.

This past weekend, we went up to BYU-I, and i'll tell you what... i love BYU. BYU Idaho is nice, and Rexburg is BEAUTIFUL, but i'm so glad that I go to BYU in Provo.

On another note, we've been cooking a lot around our apartment and we have made some food that is DIVINE, and definitely easy to make and inexpensive, or we obviously wouldn't be making it.

The first thing we made is this chicken, but i didn't have jalapeno peppers... so we just threw some red pepper flakes in it and it ended up delicious.

Then, we made these flatbreads to put our chicken sauce mixture in. The only difference is that we made our flatbreads with whole wheat flour :) So the end product was a sort of wrap type thing that had the chicken mixture, brown rice, and pineapple chunks (from the can) in the flatbread. We thought it tasted AWESOME, but then again... we eat beans from cans for meals. So trust us if you dare! Oh and one more fun thing! With the extra flatbreads, it is absolutely incredible to spread peanut butter on it, then sprinkle it with coconut, and then slice bananas on top and eat it as dessert.

1. The gospel- I remember one day in high school when i realized that my life was so much more stable because of my membership in the church. I have non-member friends who always feel like their lives are falling apart because they have nothing that gives their life real meaning. I don't have to deal with that because of my knowledge of this gospel.
2. My Family- I feel like a lot of my security in life comes from knowing that if nothing else is going the way i want it to, there are still twenty people who really care about me.
3. BYU- Even though it sometimes makes me feel like an idiot, i'm grateful for a school that challenges me and is constantly making me develop useful life skills. Like... responsibility.
4.Taylor Swift- I think Dallin said it best when he said, "she's your best friend and you don't even know her!"
5. Running- There is nothing better than the high that comes after finishing a big run. It also always puts my life back into perspective and my world is no longer falling apart.
6. Grapes, apples, bananas, oranges- If it didn't royally mess with my systems, i would eat only these foods. They're that good.
7.Good brothers and dad- i know this goes with family, but i've noticed that lots of girls don't know that there are boys in existence that aren't scumbags. Because i have an amazing dad and awesome brothers, i don't ever deal with that problem. If you don't treat me how you should, you can stay out of my life :)
8.Em and Mama- Also part of family, but i'm grateful for the example they've set in building a fun and good home. I love their excitement about crafts, food, and kids. It rubs off.
9.Fun roommates and friends-There is always something fun or exciting going on in our lives, and they definitely keep me entertained with their shinannigans. And I realized yesterday that i dodged a lot of trouble in high school because i had a best friend who was constructive instead of destructive. I love you, Marci Dawn :)
10. My brain- even though i don't always use it effectively, i'm grateful for a mind that i know will be able to comprehend and understand new material if i'll just put forth a little effort.
11. Grandma Nielson and Grandpa Anderson- Spending the past ten days with these awesome people just convinced me more of their awesomeness. They've definitely created an environment of consistency in the gospel that has blessed our lives. And they're funny. When i asked grandma what she liked most about grandpa when she married him, she answered, "well... norman was fun. really REALLY fun. We used to pick up mexican workers and drive home singing songs in spanish. Well, i would sing in spanish. your grandpa would sing in mexican."

So, I was Peter Pan for Halloween. But I mostly only dressed up to run the half-marathon.

It was pretty cold at the beginning of the race, but by the end I was warm.

My time was 1:49, that's about 8:22 miles.

So on Saturday, i successfully completed the dirty dash. It was 6.2 miles of up and down hills, running through fields, hurdling hay bales, running in boggy lake, going down the worlds biggest slip and slide, running through a machine that makes snow, crawling through culverts, climbing muddy fences, and wallowing through a mud pit on my hands and knees.

My sister and her family came all the way from Indiana to see us! And for the record, she probably has the cutest kids you've ever seen/talked to. My favorite story from this visit is probably when a bunch of Naomi's friend came running to look at Annabel in amazement. Naomi was running behind them, yelling, "Would you like to pet her?! You can if you want! Go ahead, pet her! She'll let you! She's very nice." hmm... interesting... i thought Bella was a baby, not a chihuahua.

But anyways, we all went down to Arch Canyon and played in the creek and ate hummus until we wanted to die, and the bugs ate us until they probably wanted to die.

Blogger isn't letting me upload very well, so one picture will have to be all for this post. But, isn't that the cutest baby you've ever seen?

p.s. my sister made me the cutest shirt you've ever seen while she was here. I'll try to post pictures later. I really just need my sister to move here already. I'm suffering horribly from withdrawals.

"Tonight i went over to Uncle Dan's house with Josh. When we got there i just went in the girls room and was talking to them cause i was still mad at kevin. then after like ten minutes he came in and was like 'i'm glad you're here, i was just going over to your house. I made you something.' so then he hands me this can of chili with a bow and a note on it. Then while walking out the door he said 'I love ya.' Here's what the note said :

BYU really is the coolest place in the whole wide world.
This is called True Blue Football and they set up slip n slides and then they pump blue foam onto it and we all slip and slide.
And there is a flag football game tournament that goes on at the same time. My team took second overall and we were one of the only teams with girls. BAM.
oh. and my head got blown up by this one big boy in one of our games. that was no fun.

so... i can't stop thinking about how much I love this place i call home.
and i kinda wish i could write like Molly so i could really express this. but i'm gonna give it a go.
i love the road between Monticello and Blanding. the fact that i know every turn, every spot that has lots of deer, every cool little nook in the canyons, everything.
i love that two of my dearest friends live within a 100 yards of me.
i love laying on Molly's bed making bracelets and discussing life. and the fact that her family loves me a lot. oh and... i'm gonna go off on a tangent here. i love her family too. Jake's country music obsession, which i just learned about, is amazing. absolutely fantastic. Matt's amazing spirit in my substitute primary class, and the fact that him and Loren were the only ones that weren't testing my patience. Brother Freestone's amazing gospel doctrine lessons that sometimes get a little out of hand with the George Wyther's..... then there is Sister Freestone. My mother and her love each other, and she is so quick to tell me how much she loves me. i love it. anyone who tells me how much they love me all the time is high on my list of favorite people ever. They are a good family. And.. ok. i LOVE molly. look at my facebook profile. we're married. that's a big love. i'm gonna save this mushy gushy stuff for another post though.
moving on.
i love the way my house feels. Clean and good smelling and anxiety-free.
i love hearing my dad's strong singing voice singing silly nonsense songs all day.
i love driving the Loyds Lake road with the windows down and the music blaring.
i love the traditions that we all share. like the fair and the 4th and 24th.
i love that we all genuinely care and know all about each other.
i love walking around barefoot all day long.
i love just showing up at my friends homes unannounced and having it be perfectly normal. well... maybe not perfectly.. but pretty normal?
i love the dry air.
